The Parsum principle: Particle measurement directly within the process<\/h2><\/div>

The company set out with a patented measuring method and the conviction that there was high demand in research and industry for the option of measuring particle sizes directly within processes, thereby making it possible to monitor, control and regulate processes.<\/p>\n

The well-known technique of fibre-optic spatial filter anemometry was developed so that not only the velocities of particles could be measured, but also their sizes. Unlike traditional particle size measuring methods that involve sampling and laboratory analysis, Parsum has always used inline measurement right from the start, meaning that the measured results are immediately and continuously available. Several patents have been granted for this method in Germany, Europe and the USA.<\/p>\n

In 1998, Parsum installed the first measuring instruments in probe form at a fine-chemicals manufacturer in Germany, with the aim of determining the powder quality within a grinding process. The probe design with no mechanically moving parts and no need for adjustment became an important success factor, and the design has remained the same to this day. The design also means that the probes can be installed in existing systems without a great deal of effort.<\/p>\n

In addition to the fine chemicals, foodstuffs and raw materials sectors, the IPP 70 probe model has also been offering GMP-compliant solutions for the pharmaceutical industry since 2007.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1508243072531{padding-bottom: 30px !important;}” offset=”vc_col-lg-offset-0 vc_col-lg-6 vc_col-md-offset-0 vc_col-md-6 vc_col-sm-offset-2 vc_col-xs-12″][vc_column_text]The consistent development of accessories for process adaptation \u2013 the so-called \u201cprocess interface\u201d \u2013 has been the principal factor in allowing Parsum to establish itself as a market leader in the area of particle measurement in fluidised bed processes. With the new inline dispersers, Parsum probes can perform measurements even in very intensive, damp and dusty processes.<\/p>\n

Parsum has installed more than 350 measuring systems to date. In addition to global pharmaceutical firms and companies in the food and chemical sectors, its customer base also includes numerous universities and research institutions. For international distribution, Parsum has had UK-based Malvern Instruments Ltd. on side as a partner since 2003. The company is a high-performing and world-leading supplier of particle size measuring technology. Parsum probes are currently used in 22 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

In several R&D projects carried out in cooperation with customers, plant manufacturers and universities, Parsum has put a lot of investment into the advanced development of its particle probes in recent years.<\/p>\n

Parsum is therefore in a very good position for future growth.
